Our beloved Maisie is flying at last!

Dogs look up to youcats look down on you. Give me a pig! He looks you in the eye and treats you as an equal.

I’m afraid Halloween just won’t be the same. Check out Halloween for Queen Porcine.

Ah, Maisie, the unforgettable pig. I’ve been thinking of her and am so happy I got to know her. I’m so sad that she is gone, but she truly is flying now. Pigs do fly!

Thanks so much Cathy. We’ve had her ever since we’ve had our house, so it’s so strange not to have a pig underfoot. We’ve become a hopelessly “normal” family. Haha! Not a chance. Jan

Hi Jan,

Sympathy to you on the loss of your “good friend”. It’s never easy to lose the creatures we care for…and she was a part of your family for a long time. Here’s to all of the good memories!

Thanks Tracy,
When you get a pet, it’s usually a given that you will outlive them. We have so many good memories and crazy stories that will keep Maisie alive in our hearts. My sons, who are like night and day, bond over the fact that they grew up with a pig! Jan

I will miss hearing about Maisie’s adventures. She is surely flying now. I am glad that she was able to be the flower girl for her brother human’s wedding. She will be truly missed in your neighborhood this Halloween.

Elisse,
She was a gorgeous flower girl indeed! I dread Halloween this year as we always have several hundred people coming by to have their pictures taken with “the pig.” Last year a young man had his young son with him and told us how he remembered seeing Maisie when he was a kid trick-or-treating. Jan

Wow. Now who will finish my beer? It must be very different for you and the rest of the home dwellers. Kind thoughts to you all.

Yes, Maisie did enjoy her beer/any alcoholic beverage. She was known to be the life of the party! She deeply regrets all the people she accidentally bit and the ones she bit on purpose. As my friend Tim said, she’s gone to the sty in the sky. Jan

oh no 😦 …. im so sorry to read this , i loved that u had a pig , i dont know anyone else with a pet pig…. huge loss for u…. BIG HUGS x

Thanks Bev,
I remember that you loved pigs. Maisie was like a member of the family. She loved to sleep in front of the fireplace whenever we made a fire. We joked that she had no idea how lucky she was. Most pigs would have an apple in their mouth and be turning on a spit! She had a charmed life. Without a pig, we’re now just a “normal” family. haha Fat chance! XXX Jan

We know that Maisie was a “big” part of your lives. Happily, we had the privilege of meeting her on one of our trips to So. Ca. when visiting your parents. After the tears, I’m sure you’ll find a little more room in the house. But, then, maybe you’ll want a replacement? Love, Steve and Kathy—-we love your quote by Winston Churchill

Kathy & Steve,
Maisie always spoke of you two so highly! Yes, she was known for living LARGE. The vet said he’d wait for 6 months and then might call. He knew of some “teacup” pigs that were larger than a keg. I think though that we’re forever a ONE pig family. Always, Jan
